an extension of New EarthStar Merkabah
This is a very majestic and uplifting song.
Adiemus, literally translated, means 'we will draw near'. Karl Jenkins says he was unaware of the word's meaning when he created it. He believed it to be an invented word of his own imagination.
The rest of the words don't mean anything, and are only phonetic creations. They sound so beautiful, and create such a feeling of Joy and Peace. This is brought forth with the Love from their hearts and voices ~ and to think all of this JOY is possible with made up words...it is the intention, sound and vibrations of the words. I love saying the words, and the way they feel as they tumble from my mouth...
I heard this song for the first time last summer when I needed a boost...listening to and singing along helped me a great deal.
There are 2 or 3 different versions sung by different artists and a few versions of the lyrics. There are also different versions to who actually wrote the lyrics for this song. The lead singer Miriam Stockley, a South African, also used a language combining English and Zuli, that was made up with friends as a child. You can hear some of that on her Second Nature Album.
The end result of Adiemus is magic, and I am grateful the song came to be.
Karl Jenkins has also written songs with phonetic words for the rest of the Adiemus group which has changed singers several times.
Enya has never sung this song, although she is credited with doing so. I love Enya as well.
I hope you all enjoy this.
